IMPORTANT INFORMATION

SERVICE AREA FLOODING NOTICE

Dear PIE&G Members,

Due to the severe flooding across our service area, we are actively monitoring impacts to our natural gas and electric infrastructure. In several locations, washed-out roads and culverts have exposed gas mains, making them more vulnerable to damage. If a line is compromised, it may be necessary to shut off gas service to larger sections of our system to ensure public safety. Also, please stay at least 20 feet from any exposed underground electrical wires. Please stay at least 20 feet away from any exposed gas or underground electric lines and call 1-800-423 –6634 to report them to our dispatchers.

We are also aware of areas where rising water levels may require evacuations.

If you are evacuating your home, please take the following precautions:

Turn off gas supply at your appliances if it is safe to do so.
Do not attempt to shut off the gas at the meter.
If possible, turn off your main electrical breakers.
Contact PIE&G at 1-800-423 –6634 to report your location so we can track affected properties and respond more efficiently.

After flooding subsides:

Any appliances that have been submerged must be inspected by a qualified professional before being used again.
Gas meters that have been underwater will need to be replaced by PIE&G before service can be safely restored.
